Baylor WGolf Opens the 2026-27 season in South Carolina

BU starts the season on Sept. 7-8 at the Cougar Classic
Waco, TX- Baylor Bears Women's golf opens the 2026-27 campaign at the Cougar Classic on Sept. 7 and 8th in Charleston, South Carolina.
Jay Goble is entering his 16th season at the helm. With the Lady Bears coming off another strong season, which included Coach Goble's 10th appearance at the NCAA Championships as head coach of the Bears. The 2025-26 season featured a tournament win at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in the fall and a pair of individual victories from Yurang Li. Building off lasts years momentum, entering the season ranked No.26, Goble is ready to this year's team compete.
"I am excited to start off the season at Yeamans Hall in Charleston, S.C. It is one of the most historic courses in the country, and a place to kick off the season with a great field. I am very excited to coach this young and talented group. We have a solid schedule this season and will be competing with the best teams from around the country on some of the best courses in the United States."
The Cougar Classic is being hosted at Yeamans Hall Club with 18 teams in the field. The field includes teams from the SEC, CAA, Big Ten, American, SoCon, with Baylor and UCF representing the Big 12.
The Bears' lineup includes five returning players, all of whom have experience in the starting lineup. Senior Yurang Li will lead the way in the No. 1 spot, looking to build on a successful junior season that included two individual victories. Paloma Ibarra Ambia, Malena Castro and Charlotte Brook round out the middle of the lineup, bringing a mix of experience and consistency to the Bears' opening five. Fifth-year senior Bridget Boczar rounds out the lineup, looking to build on an impressive fourth season that included a new career-low round and a career-best finish, tying for second at The "Mo."
Live Scoring for the Cougar Classic can be found on scoreboard by Clippd. The tournament is scheduled to begin with a shotgun start Monday at 7:30 AM Eastern Time.
