Colin Toner serves Baylor's women's and men's golf teams as the Director of Golf Operations.
He previously served the women’s golf program as its first ever Director of Operations, beginning on July 17, 2023. After one year with the program, and as a certified PGA member, he added the title of Assistant Coach to his responsibilities in his second season on staff. He began his current role as Director of Golf Operations over both programs in May 2025.
In his first season on staff the Bears reached a fourth-straight NCAA Championship. The Bears were ranked No. 63 on February 28th, but climbed 29 spots in a two-month span to reach No. 34 entering the NCAA Championship. A dominant stretch over the season's final couple of months included a 45-13-0 head-to-head record and a stroke-play victory at the Veritex Bank Texas Showdown. A No. 7 seed in the NCAA Las Vegas Regional, The Bears beat the field average by over 11 shots in the final round to secure a third-place finish and become one of eight teams to make six of the last seven NCAA Championships'.
A 2021 graduate of the University of Nebraska, Toner has spent two years assisting Baylor head coaches, student-athletes and staff as a graduate assistant with the compliance team. Some of his duties included reviewing prospective student-athlete transcripts, coach camp/clinic requests, NCAA bylaw interpretations, NIL trends and student-athlete NIL activity.
Before attending grad school at Baylor, Toner was a Level Three PGA Management intern at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan. During his time in Hutchinson, Toner assisted in the execution of the 2021 Big 12 Men's Golf Championship as a part of the advanced tournament operations team, while assisting with the junior golf program and helping achieve a new record in merchandise sales.
Toner also served as a Level Three PGA Management intern at Crystal Downs Country Club in Frankfort, Michigan, in the summer of 2020. He worked alongside the club professionals, helping with inventory management, tee sheet management, tournament operations and budgeting.
The Grand Island, Neb., native completed his Level Two PGA Management internship at Philadelphia Cricket Club in Flourtown, Penn. Toner participated in caddie education and was an instructor for the “Get Golf Ready” program.
Toner has a B.S. in Professional Golf Management and a minor in business administration from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2021. He earned his M.S. Ed. in Sport Management from Baylor in July of 2023.
