Women's Golf Tied For Seventh At Big 12 Championship

COLUMBIA, Mo - Baylor's women's golf team is tied for seventh place with an opening-round 321 on Monday at the Big 12 Championships hosted by Missouri. The tournament is being held at the Country Club of Missouri in Columbia (par 72, 6,008 yards).
Senior Hanna-Sofia Svenningsson who shot a first-round 76 and is tied for fifth place, leads the Bears, ranked 28th nationally by Golfstat.
Rounding out the individual scoring for the Bears are senior Melanie Hagewood, who shot a 78 (t16); junior Michaelyn Morgan who shot an 83 putting her tied for 43rd place; junior Kelli McKandless who carded an 84 (t48), and freshman Josefin Svenningsson who is currently in 59th place after scoring a 90.
The current top-five leaders of the tournament are Missouri (304), Texas (307), Oklahoma State (309), Nebraska (311) and Kansas State (312). The Bears are currently tied with Texas A&M for seventh.
The three-day tournament resumes on Tuesday and will conclude with the crowning of 2003 Big 12 Team and Individual Champions on Wednesday afternoon.
