PARRISH, Fla. - The women's golf team opened with a first-round 302 then shot a 307 for a 36-hole total of 609 to finish fifth after the first day of the Central District Invitational hosted by Michigan State at the 6,099-yard par-72 River Wilderness Country Club.
Senior Allison Martin (Bakersfield, Calif.) leads the Bears and is tied for fifth at 147 shooting one-under-par 71 in the first round and a 76 in the second.
Senior Anna Rehnholm (Karlskrona, Sweden) shot a 75 in both rounds to tie for 12th at 150. Freshman Natalie Hocott (San Antonio, Texas) tied for 53rd at 158 after shooting two back to back rounds of 7-over par 79. Freshman Hannah Burke (Hertfordshire, England) shot an 81 in her second round after a 77 in the first to finish tied for 53rd at 158 while Junior Sian Reddick (Folkestone, England) is tied for 62nd at 160 after opening with an 83 and shooting a 77 in her second round.
Texas A&M shot a 587 (291-296) to lead the overall team standings by six strokes over Michigan State (296-297=593). Texas A&M's Ashley Knoll leads the individual standings at 140 by one stroke over Michigan State's Sara Brown.
