ENMORE, Somerset, England - Entering the final 36 holes Thursday, Baylor Lady Bears senior golfer Hannah Burke held a one-stroke lead, but stumbled during the third round, shooting a 5-over 77. Burke rebounded in the final round to finish tied for second overall at the 2009 English Women's Open Amateur Championship at Enmore Park Golf Club.

Burke and England's Charlotte Ellis each finished at 4-over 292. England's Charlotte Wild won the Women's Open Amateur Championship with a 3-over 291.

Burke, who shot a 2-under 70 Wednesday to take the lead through two rounds, struggled on the back nine of Thursday's third round with back-to-back bogeys on the 11th and 12th holes. On the 14th, Burke carded a double-bogey, followed by a bogey on 16 to finish 5-over on the back nine.

In the final round, Burke opened with five straight pars before a birdie at No. 6 put her at 1-under heading into the final nine holes of play. However, Burke posted bogeys on the 11th and 15th holes to fall to 1-over. She would close out the tournament with birdies on two of the final three holes to shoot a final-round 1-under 71.

The 2009 English Women's Open Amateur Championship concludes Burke's stellar summer competition. Last month, Burke shot a final-round 6-under 67 to force a playoff at the 2009 Irish Women's Open; she eventually fell to Lisa Maquire on the seventh playoff hole.
