Bendeck and Lah Secure Spot in ITA Regional Semifinals

Bears duo collects 10th and 11th-straight wins Sunday morning

WACO, Texas – Baylor men's tennis doubles duo Jimmy Bendeck and Sven Lah booked a spot in the semifinals on day three of the ITA Texas Regional Championships Sunday at the Hurd Tennis Center.
Having to play two matches in the morning, the Bears tandem first defeated Ilgiz Valiev and Artem Kapshuk, 8-5, in the round of 16. Then, Lah and Bendeck recorded their 11th consecutive victory with an 8-5 triumph over Yuya Ito and Colin Markes of Texas in the quarterfinals.
The other two Baylor duos went 0-2 in the round of 16. Fifth-ranked Johannes Schretter and Will Little suffered an 8-5 defeat to Abilene Christian's Jonathan and Josh Sheehy on court two, and Constantin Frantzen and Matias Soto dropped an 8-5 decision to 11th-ranked Christian Sigsgaard and Harrison Scott on court three.
In singles play, No. 85 Lah retired in his match to ACU's Josh Sheehy on court four, down 2-0. The second Bear went the distance, but 33rd-ranked Schretter fell 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 to SMU's Carles Sarrio Tamarit on court one.

Bendeck and Lah compete in their second-straight semifinal with a Monday matchup against Bjorn Thomson and Parker Wynn of Texas Tech. First serve is set for 9:30 a.m. CT at the Hurd Tennis Center.
Should they advance, the ITA Regional championship final will also be contested on Monday.
