Bears move up two spots with fifth-best score in Saturday’s second round

TUCSON, Ariz. – Baylor women's golf moved up two spots into a tie for fifth place after shooting 4-over-par 292 in Saturday's second round of the MountainView Collegiate at The Preserve at Saddlebrook. The Bears have a 36-hole total of 2-over 578 entering Sunday's final round.
No. 9 Baylor (+2) is tied with No. 30 North Texas (+2) and leads UNLV (+3), San Jose State (+12), No. 50 Kansas State (+13), No. 45 Tulsa (+19), Fresno State (+23), Tulane (+27), Southern Miss (+33) and Florida International (+34). BU trails only No. 31 Texas (-18), No. 36 Iowa State (-11), No. 8 Oklahoma State (-10) and No. 20 Houston (-9).
Gurleen Kaur again posted the Bears' best round of the day, this time with a 1-under 71. She's tied for ninth place individually in the 70-player field at 3-under 141 across two rounds, five shots back of the individual lead.
Elodie Chapelet shot even-par in the second round by making par on all 18 holes. Combined with 10-straight pars to end the first round, she's now on a streak of 28-consecutive pars and leads the field with 31 pars across 36 holes. She sits tied for 19th place at even-par 144 entering the final round.
Hannah Karg carded 2-over 74 in the second round to move into a tie for 25th place at 2-over, and Britta Snyder carded the Bears' final counting score at 3-over 75 to move into a tie for 40th place at 6-over 150. Snyder recovered from a slow start that had her 5-over through five holes before shooting 2-under the rest of the day. Rosie Belsham was even through 12, but finished at 6-over 78 and is also tied for 40th place at 6-over 150.

28 – Elodie Chapelet has made 28-consecutive pars spanning back to the final 10 holes of Friday's first round. She leads the field with 31 pars across 36 holes, two more than any other player.
