Chapelet leads Bears with tie for 16th place individually

TUCSON, Ariz. – Baylor women's golf finished in fifth place by shooting 10-over-par 874 across three rounds in the MountainView Collegiate. The Bears carded 8-over-par 296 in Sunday's final round at The Preserve at Saddlebrook.
No. 9-ranked Baylor (+10) placed behind only No. 8 Oklahoma State (-20), No. 31 Texas (-18), No. 20 Houston (-15) and No. 36 Iowa State (-8). The Bears notched head-to-head victories against No. 30 North Texas (+15), UNLV (+21), San Jose State (+22), No. 50 Kansas State (+29), No. 45 Tulsa (+34), Fresno State (+41), Southern Miss (+51), Tulane (+51) and Florida International (+55).
Elodie Chapelet led the Bears and finished tied for 16th individually at 1-over 217 for the tournament. She shot 1-over 73 in the final round and had a streak of 38 consecutive pars spanning across the final 10 holes of the first round, all 18 holes in the second round and the first 10 holes of the final round.
Britta Snyder had Baylor's best final-round score with an even-par 72 to move up into a tie for 31st place at 6-over 222. Snyder made a team-high 11 birdies in the tournament, tied for sixth-most in the field.
Hannah Karg carded 2-over 74 in the final round and finished tied for 23rd place at 4-over 220, and Rosie Belsham recorded BU's final counting score at 5-over 77 to tie for 46th place at 11-over 227. Gurleen Kaur shot 9-over 81 and tied for 31st place at 6-over 222.

38 – Elodie Chapelet made par on 38 consecutive holes spanning from the ninth hole in the final round, through the entire second round and ending on the 11th hole in the final round. She led the tournament with 46 pars across 54 holes, three more than any other player in the 70-golfer field. BU had 176 pars as a team, three back of the tournament lead.
