
Track & Field Sends 12 to Austin to Open Outdoor Season

Bears will compete against 12 other schools at Longhorn Invitational.
WACO, Texas – While the NCAA Indoor Championships await next weekend, Baylor track & field will send 12 student-athletes down to Austin for the Longhorn Invitational Saturday to open the outdoor season.
Seniors Ryan Croson (200m/400m) and Maxwell Willis (100m/200m) are set to make their season debuts as neither had indoor eligibility remaining, and junior Chris Stoudt will make his first appearance as a Baylor Bear throwing he javelin.
Dillon Bedell (400m), Isaiah Cunningham (100m/200m) and Cole Hardan (shot put/hammer throw) will make their first appearances of the season outdoors after completing their indoor seasons.
On the women's side, grad transfer Destiny Collins from Texas returns to her old stomping grounds to make her Baylor debut in the 1,500 meters. Tiffani Peacock (pole vault) will be making her season debut, while Mikayla Deshazer (shot put/discus/hammer throw) competes outdoors for the first time along with Brooke Botha making her career debut in the javelin. Rylie Smith (pole vault) and Samone Turner (hammer throw) transition to outdoors after completing their indoor seasons.
The Bears will be competing against host Texas, Incarnate Word, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Prairie View A&M, Rice, Sam Houston State, SMU, South Dakota, UTRGV, Texas Southern, West Virginia.
