Bears gear up for new season in exhibition at Foster Pavilion
WACO, Texas – Baylor women's basketball will open the Foster Pavilion for an exhibition game on Sunday afternoon against the Langston Lady Lions from Oklahoma at 2 p.m.
The game will not be streamed, but action can be followed through Derek Smith and Lori Fogleman on BaylorBears.com.
The Bears are ranked for the 20th-consecutive time in the AP preseason poll at No. 12, second among Big 12 member institutions, and 12th in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll.
Langston had an early start to their season in NAIA competition, off quickly to a 3-0 start with wins over Wiley University, Williams Baptist and Texas A&M Texarkana. The 2024-25 season is the first under the direction of men's assistant turned women's head coach, Chris Vincent. Vincent spent time in the WNBA with the Sun in 2012.
BU was represented by three student-athletes on four watch lists through the Atlanta Tipoff Club and the Naismith Hall of Fame. Sarah Andrews tabbed mentions on the Naismith Trophy and Ann Myers-Drysale (shooting guard) lists, while Darianna Littlepage-Buggs found her name on the Katrina McClain (power forward) preseason list for the second-consecutive year and Aaronette Vonleh landed on the Lisa Leslie (center) list.
Vonleh and Andrews also garnered All-Big 12 Preseason Honors, with Vonleh earning Baylor's sixth-straight Preseason Newcomer of the Year title.
Single game tickets for 2024-25 at the Paul and Alejandra Foster Pavilion are on sale now. For more information, call the Baylor Athletics Ticket Office at 254-710-1000.
