Bears lead 28-7 all-time against the Mustangs
DALLAS, Texas – Baylor men's tennis prepares to travel up I-35 to Dallas as they take on SMU Sunday at 4:00 p.m at the Altec Tennis Complex, Baylor's first road match of the spring season.
"SMU is a great team that has consistently been at the top of their conference over the past decade or so," said head coach Michael Woodson. "They always draw a great crowd for our matches and with their transition to the ACC, I know they are primed to make a push. It won't be an easy match, but it's always fun to play there and have some of our Dallas Bears out to support us. Can't wait to get back out on the match court with this team!"
Coming off a big weekend with two top-five opponents, Baylor (2-2, 0-0) looks to refocus and take down SMU (5-1, 0-0). The Bears currently lead the Mustangs 28-7 in the all-time series, including a victory in their last season's match in Waco 4-2. The Mustangs have not captured a win over the Bears since 2001.
During BU's last matchup on Monday against No. 2 TCU the South African pair of Devin Badenhorst and Luc Koenig paired up for the first time this season and earned a 7-5 victory. In singles, Marko Miladinovic had a dominating singles victory on Court Six taking down Filip Apltauer 6-4, 6-3 to begin the spring season 3-0 in dual matches.
SMU is entering Sunday's match with one ranked singles player with Trevor Svajda at No. 48.
Live results for the match are available online with live streaming provided by Playsight.
