Game notes:
• Baylor continues working its way through a five-game homestand, hosting UTSA on Sunday afternoon at Foster Pavilion.
• It is the first matchup against the Roadrunners in the Nicki Collen era, with the last game seeing a 30-point victory for Baylor in 2013.
• After playing four of its first six games in a different time zone, including one in Central European Standard Time, BU completed its busiest opening stretch since the 2021-22 season, when Collen's first squad played four road games in its first six overall: at UT Arlington, at Maryland, and against Fordham and Arizona State in Cancun.
• Baylor is ranked 14th in the AP Poll and 15th in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll after their 8-1 start to the season.
• The Bears got a huge boost in the national statistic rankings after the offensive surge against Southeastern Louisiana, now getting individual top-25 spots for Taliah Scott (Free Throws, Points, Free Throw Attempts, Points Per Game, Field Goal Attempts, Three Point Attempts, Three Pointers and Field Goals), Darianna Littlepage-Buggs (Rebounds, Defensive Rebounds Per Game, Rebounds Per Game and Double-Doubles), Kiersten Johnson (Blocks and Blocks Per Game) and Jana Van Gytenbeek (Assists, Assists Per Game and Assist to Turnover Ratio)
• Through games on Dec. 4, Baylor is ranked No. 20 in the NET.
• The Bears are 0–1 against Quadrant 1 opponents, with the lone game coming in a five-point loss to Iowa in Orlando. BU's top win came against Davidson in overtime less than 48 hours after playing the Hawkeyes.
• UTSA is ranked No. 169 in the NET, with its highest-rated win coming over No. 143 Grand Canyon.
• Baylor had its best shooting night in the Nicki Collen era, shooting 63.5% (47-of-74) in a 112-47 victory at Foster Pavilion.
• Taliah Scott recorded her first career double-double with 23 points and 10 assists, while she teamed up with Jana Van Gytenbeek (12 assists) as the first Bear duo to hit double-digit assists since Niya Johnson (14) and Odyssey Sims (13) did so against San Jose State in 2013.
• The Bears put up a 65-point first half aided by a 32-point run in the first quarter that gave the Bears a 37-7 lead after the first frame.
• Bella Fontleroy joined Scott in scoring over 20 points, while Darianna Littlepage-Buggs (fourth double-double of the season), Kiersten Johnson, Marcayla Johnson and Yuting Deng also had double-figure points.
• It was the fifth 100-point game under Collen and Baylor's best shooting night since Dec. 29, 2020 vs. McNeese
