WACO, Texas -- Baylor women's golf continues its fall schedule this weekend at the Prairie Dunes Invitational in Hutchinson, Kan., with a five-player lineup of Bridget Boczar, Malena Castro, Yurang Li, Amelia Wan and Charlotte Brook.
The Bears enter the event with strong momentum after top-five team finishes at both of their first two tournaments. Baylor opened the season with a runner-up showing at the Folds of Honor Collegiate (+10) before placing fifth at the Mason Rudolph Championship (+11). Through six rounds this fall, Baylor owns a team scoring average of 289.5 and a head-to-head record of 21-5 against Division I competition.
Castro has paced the Bears early in the season, highlighted by a career-best t-6th finish at the Mason Rudolph Championship where she fired a second-round 66 and closed at 3-under 210. Ohma also posted a top-10 at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, tying for seventh with a 2-over 218 that included a 65 in round two.
Wan made an immediate impact in her debut tournament with a t-12th finish at the Folds of Honor Collegiate and carries a 74.16 scoring average. Li has provided steady play with a pair of top-35 results, while Boczar brings veteran experience and consistency with rounds counting in 83 percent of her starts this season.
The Prairie Dunes Invitational, hosted at Prairie Dunes Country Club, will feature a competitive national field on one of the nation's most historic courses. Baylor is seeking its third-straight top-five finish to begin the season and another opportunity to build NCAA résumé strength heading into the remainder of the fall slate.
