KAREN AULENBACHER-HEINZ, Conroe, Texas (Basketball, 1975-78; Softball, 1976-78) – 1997

A two-sport standout for Baylor, Aulenbacher-Heinz earned three letters in both basketball and softball in the 1970s. On the basketball court, she helped coach Olga Fallen’s Bearettes to a pair of AIAW Final Eight appearances—a seventh-place finish in 1976 and fifth in 1977.

In Aulenbacher’s three seasons on the varsity, Baylor won at least 30 games every season and posted a record of 96-26 (.787) in that stretch. She scored 1,608 points and grabbed 711 rebounds during her 119-game Baylor career and hit a then-school-record 80.2 percent at the free throw line.

Aulenbacher-Heinz, who was also a three-year catcher for the Baylor softball team, was the second female to be inducted into the Baylor Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997.
